We are active members in the Coastal Empire Hunting Retriever Club (CEHRC) and wish to invite you and your gundog to join.

   They learn to pick up and hold a bumper on command which is the basis of mouth control, before retrieving a bird, and deliver it to hand, in the heel position.

 

   In the next month(s) the dog learns to retrieve birds. They are worked on retrieving over decoys in the water and on land. During training your retriever may be transported to different fields and wetlands, where they are worked individually in simulated hunting situations

 

   We recommend that you leave the dog the first month to become familiar with the trainers and accustomed to the kennel environment. Later you are welcome to visit scheduled training sessions, where we will work with you and your dog together in the field.                         

 

Advanced Gun Dog - Includes boarding - Continuation of Started Gundog, concentrated work on multiple marks, blind retrieves and whistle commands. Introduction to boats and calls are implemented in training.

   Started Gundog—Includes boarding and continues obedience training. Our program takes about two to three months. By the end of the training, the dog will go out and hunt up a bird that is seen to fall, and retrieve it to hand.

 

   Ideally, during the first month the dog will learn their basic obedience commands  (heel, sit, stay, come, and kennel).
