1. Kennel hours of operation

All appointments are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. by reservation only. We require you to provide your requested times for arrival and departure. Although we provide boarding over the weekend, we are not open on Sundays or holidays.

  1. Kennel fees

All fees are due at the time of drop off. We accept Cash, Check, or Money Order. For your convenience and security, we only accept credit cards online. Kennel Fees will not be refunded for dogs departing prior to the reserved date.

  1. Breed age and weight requirements

Because our facility is open air, you may want to make other boarding arrangements if your dog is not acclimatized to the outdoors. We only board sport, herding, and companion breeds over 6 months of age and greater than 25 pounds who enjoy the outdoors.

  1. Proof of vaccinationS

All dogs require vaccinations for DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. In addition, all dogs should be on heartworm and flea preventative due to the open air environment.

  1. LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS

While we do allow you to bring a toy and bedding for your dog, we suggest that you bring a non-porous toy. Cloth toys or bedding that your dog tears up or shreds will be removed from the run. In addition, many clients prefer to leave their leashes with us when they check in. Clients who leave items do so at their own risk. We will not be held responsible for any item that you leave at our kennel should they become damaged or lost.

  1. Medical issues

We cannot accept any pet with stitches, bandages, head cone, or splint. We cannot be responsible for missed medication due to the dog's refusal to take or excited behavior during administration. We only administer medications in pill form; please utilize your veterinarian for boarding if your dog has special medical needs. We make every effort to give excellent care for your dog. We are not responsible for medical issues or emergencies that may arise during your dog’s stay. Please provide an emergency contact that will be responsible for making decisions regarding your dog if medical attention or emergency pick-up may be required. If you or your contact is not available for consultation, we reserve the right to make the decision to seek or not to seek care and to use a facility of our choice. All veterinary fees will be the owner’s responsibility.

  1. ESCAPED DOG

Clients boarding dogs with Salt Creek Kennels are responsible to review and determine the suitability of our facilities for boarding your dog. If you are aware that your dog may jump, damage or climb fences you must inform us at the time reservations are made, and again when the dog is dropped off, as special arrangements must be made to house these dogs. Dogs that climb, jump fences or demonstrate escape behavior shall not be provided with the “out of run exercise” service. Should your dog escape for any reason, Salt Creek Kennels will not be liable for any costs relating to your escaped dog.

  1. DESTRUCTIVE DOG
Clients who board dogs with us that are destructive will be held liable for all damages caused to our kennels and any injury that the dog may inflict upon itself while engaging in destructive behaviors. This policy is applied to all destructive dogs regardless of the reason for destruction. That is, whether the dog has anxiety, aggression, excitement, fear, or any phobia or generalized destructive behavior. In addition, when clients provide us with a veterinarian prescribed sedative for their dog to minimize behaviors, we will not be held responsible or liable should the sedative not be given in time to prevent destruction or injury.

  1. AGGRESSIVE DOG

We do not board aggressive dogs. An aggressive dog growls, bares teeth, lunges, or snaps at a person or dog. The owner of a dog determined to be aggressive will be held liable for any injury sustained to itself, another dog, representative, or client of Salt Creek Kennels. Should an aggressive dog injure itself and be unapproachable by our staff, we will contact Chatham County Animal Control and have the dog removed from the premises so that it may be properly cared for.

  1. Severe Weather

We do not board during a voluntary or mandatory weather evacuation. Please follow evacuation guidelines in your area. Should an evacuation order be issued during your dog’s stay, you must arrange for pick up. Salt Creek Kennels will not be liable for injuries sustained to, or loss of, your dog during weather events.

  1. Abandoned Dog

If for any reason you cannot pick up your dog by the agreed upon date, you must notify Salt Creek Kennels of the new date. If you have not contacted us, and your dog has been left for more than 5 business days beyond scheduled pick up, your dog will be considered abandoned. Salt Creek Kennels will notify Animal Control to take custody of the dog. Please refer to the Chatham County Ordinance for Abandoned Animals.

  1. Equine Activity Sponsor

Salt Creek Kennels operates a Mule Team as an equine activity and post this notice to all. Warning- under Georgia Law, an equine activity SPONSOR, or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to chapter 12 of Title 4 of the official Code of Georgia annotated.
